History and Milestones

It all started with a noble desire to meet the serious need for a banking institution in the municipality of Tanza, Cavite. Today, Bangko Mabuhay is the choice of Caviteños.  In 1970, the incorporators of Rural Bank of Tanza (Cavite), Inc. envisioned to provide basic banking services that included savings and loans.

The authority to organize a rural bank in Tanza, Cavite was given to the Bank on April 14, 1972, and was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on July 7, 1972.

Official inauguration and formal opening of the first branch located at San Agustin St. cor. Sto. Domingo St., Poblacion, Tanza, Cavite followed on November 15, 1972.
In 1984, Mr. Edwin S. Fojas, an MBM graduate of the Asian Institute of Management and a graduate of De La Salle University, assumed the position of president and general manager of Bangko Mabuhay from Mr. Raul J. Fojas.

The year 1989 marked the beginning of major developments for the Bank. Its head office in Poblacion, Tanza, Cavite was expanded into a two-storey building with a total floor area of approximately 400 square meters. Backed by services of software provider MB Phils., Inc., the Bank introduced computerization of its savings and loan accounts.

In 1992, the Bank opened its second branch and its first extension office along A. Soriano Highway in Tanza, Cavite in anticipation of the relocation of the public market as well as the growing commercial establishments within the vicinity.

In adherence to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ liberization program and to open doors to potential markets in 1995, the Bank applied for the approval of establishment of three (3) branches within Cavite. Also in the same year, the Bank came to be known as Bangko Mabuhay.

In 1996, Bangko Mabuhay started offering its services to more Caviteños with the opening of three (3) more branch offices in the following areas:

  1. Zapote-Paliparan Road, Molino III, Bacoor, Cavite
  2. De Ocampo St., Poblacion, Indang, Cavite, and
  3. Corner Pascual H. Poblete and Balong Pari Sts., Poblacion, Naic, Cavite

In August 2007, construction of a new three-storey main office building along the Hi-way Branch site in Tanza, Cavite commenced. The construction of the new main office was completed  in 2008. This move further enabled  the Bank to serve the banking needs of other rural folks in other locations.
Today, Bangko Mabuhay is the trusted bank of the rural folk. It has a total of  five (5) offices in Cavite, (Head Office in Tanza,  4  branches located in  Naic, Indang and Bacoor and  one (1)  MBO located in Dasmarinas ). It has one (1) branch  outside Cavite,   located  in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.

Our immense understanding of the rural folk’s needs has propelled us to expand our services from savings and loans to checking account, microfinance, inward foreign remittance service and utility bills collection services. Appreciation of our products and services through the years has resulted in significant growth of the bank’s capital stock and total resources.

Housing Loans (for Individuals)

Product Description
Purchase of lot, house and lot, condominium unit, residential house construction and renovation and refinancing of an existing mortgage loans.
  • Minimum loan amount of Php100,000.00
  • Loan Amount is based on Appraisal of collateral and Cash Flow Report of applicant;
  • Use the loan amount for the following:
    1. Purchase of house and lot or condominium unit
    2. House construction or house renovation
    3. Refinancing of an existing mortgage with an institution acceptable to the bank
    4. Combination of loan purposes (shall be limited to the following) like purchase of Lot and construction of a residential unit thereon and purchase of a residential unit wit home improvements
    5. Refinancing of a lot loan with construction of a residential unit thereon
    6. Refinancing of a residential unit with home improvement
  • Interest rate - prevailing interest rate at the time of availment;
  • Term of 1 to 10 years

For Employed
  • Certificate of Employment
  • ITR for 3 years
  • Payslip for the last 3 months
  • Latest Bank Statement (6 months)
  • 2 Valid Government issued IDs
  • Photocopy of Birth Certificate
  • Photocopy of Marriage Certificate (for Married)
  • 2 pcs of 2 x 2 ID pictures
  • For OFW –  Contract of Employement
  • Proof of Remittance for the past 6 to 12 months or Bank Statement (if bank to bank)
For Business
  • Business Registrations (DTI, Mayor’s Permit, etc)
  • Billing Statement
  • List of Suppliers with contact person and number
  • List of Customers with contact person and number
  • ITR for the last 3 years
  • Latest Bank Statement (6 months)
  • Audited Financial Statement (3 years)
  • 2 Valid Government issued IDs
  • Photocopy of Birth Certificate
  • Photocopy of Married Certificate (for Married)
  • 2 pcs of 2 x 2 ID pictures
For the collateral
  • Transfer Certificate Title or Condominium Certificate Title
  • Tax Declaration
  • Location Map
  • Current Real Property Tax and Tax Clearance (lot and improvements)
  • Special Power of Attorney (if collateral is not in the name of the applicant)
Loan Application Procedure
  • The borrower shall fill-out Bangko Mabuhay Loan Application form
  • The borrower shall complete and submit to Bangko Mabuhay the documentary requirements needed for the processing of the loan
  • An NFIS/CMAP verification shall be conducted by Bangko Mabuhay while the borrower is completing the documentary requirements needed by Bangko Mabuhay
  • Upon completion of the documents, an appraisal fee shall be paid by the borrower for the evaluation of collateral being offered
  • The borrower will be notified by Bangko Mabuhay on the status or approval of his/her loan
  • The borrower shall sign loan documents such as promissory notes, real estate mortgage, etc.
  • The borrower shall submit post-dated checks to Bangko Mabuhay equivalent to the loan’s monthly amortization or authorized an ADA (Automatic Debit Arrangement) with the bank for payment of the amortization every due date;
  • The loan proceeds will be released by Bangko Mabuhay via Cash, or Manager’s check or credit to the borrower’s savings account
